Aspiring to sparkle like Beyoncé, be chic like Lauren Conrad, or be a glamorous cowgirl like Taylor Swift? Well, you do not necessarily have to shop in New York to take on their fashion trends. There are many local stores and shops in Spotsylvania and Fredericksburg that provide you with exactly what you need to dress like a celebrity. All you need to know is where and how.

Located in Cosner’s Corner Shopping Center is Marshall’s. This store is one of the well-known clothing providers who carry high-quality brands for low prices. All the brands, such as Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, American Eagle, Hollister, North Face and many more are sold here. Prices are much lower than what are found in the actual stores and the great thing is that they sell all the same clothes. Ross, also located in Cosner’s Corner, is another clothing store with the same idea of high-quality clothing for very cheap prices.

Recently, Miley Cyrus began producing a clothing line for Wal-Mart. Designed by Miley herself, with the help of Max Azria who designs BCBG, the line features everyday styles of the superstar with prices that anyone can afford. The style represents a “rock-n-roll” image with rocking prices.

Another option is Plato’s Closet, on Route 3. At this store, you find gently used or even new clothes that have been owned beforehand. Again, the prices are very cheap on high-end brands. You may be thinking having clothes that were owned before is not exactly your style. However, some of the clothes donated still have tags on them. You just have to take the time and look through everything to find something worth buying.

If you are feeling braver with your shopping skills, a consignment shop is always an alternative clothing store. Take in consideration that you might have to look a little harder for things. However, these shops have some very interesting vintage items that may have been old news a couple of years ago, but are now back in style. For example, oversized sunglasses, rose-patterned clothing, African and safari prints, as well as ruffles are all old trends that can be dug up in a consignment shop.

Now that you know where to find the clothes, let’s focus on how to make them celebrity-flavored. While searching for the clothes, choose anything that catches your eye, such as a dress that is pure sparkles; vintage, worn-in cowboy boots; or a sassy leather jacket. Also, make sure to get an even amount of neutral items as well, such as a solid-colored tunic that can easily be paired with anything.

From there, use things you already have in your closet, such as over-sized waist belts, a pair of kicking heels, or even loud-colored earrings. You’d be surprised at how many outfits you can make by simply changing up the accessories. Use ideas from magazines such as Seventeen or Glamour to make fun combinations with your clothes and accessories. When given the right tools, anyone can dress like a celebrity.
