Two dimensional movies are the way to go.  I have always watched movies in 2D and I don’t see a reason to change. When you pay eight bucks for popcorn, you don’t want it to be flying out of your hand because some guy from the movie is shoving his chainsaw in your face.

Who really wants to sit down to flying objects and spinning helicopter blades? When you pay twenty dollars to see a movie, you want to enjoy it, not be on edge because the kid next to you is holding a soda in his trembling hand. With a 2D movie there are no worries. You can sit down, relax, and enjoy what’s playing on the screen without having to worry about dodging bullets or popping bubbles. It’s the movie as it was meant, not all the fancy extras that leave you with a headache.

Not only do you have to fear for the cleanliness of your favorite white shirt during a 3D movie, but you also have to wear goofy glasses. I don’t know about you, but having bulky pieces of plastic on my face just so I can dodge a flying tree limb isn’t exactly a good time. They are uncomfortable and they look ridiculous. I mean what’s the point of dressing decent for your date if you’re just going to look like Steve Irkle when you sit down for the movie?

2D movies have been enjoyed for years. They achieve exactly what they set out to accomplish; entertain you. They are less expensive and still enjoyable. You can sit down and comfortably watch your movie without projectiles being flung in your face. If I was given a choice, 2D would be number one every time.

3D movies are the way of the future! As our technology becomes more advanced things are going to change. The classic 2D movies are great, don’t get me wrong; however, 3D offers a more immersive experience and hopefully will become the norm for the movie industry. Saying we should stay with the obsolete 2D cinema is like saying you’d rather drive a horse and buggy to school.

When I went to see Avatar 3D I was absolutely blown away by how advanced the 3D technology is becoming. The colors are deeper, the picture is clearer, and you feel like you are there in the movie experiencing the event first hand. With the chance to feel like you are in the middle of a battlefield or flying on the back of a dragon why would you want to see a movie in boring 2D?

3D is the biggest step forward in the movie industry since the jump from black and white to color. I’m not sure if people were opposing the change to color like some are to the change to 3D, but it just doesn’t make sense. Sure there will be bad 3D movies with gimmicks like the old paddleball trick, but the same can be said about 2D movies. 3D movies done right are an amazing feat and will be better than 2D movies any day.

All in all I’m extremely happy to see that 3D movies are becoming more and more popular. This is a huge step in the right direction for movies and it’s good that it is being supported by a large number of movie-goers. 3D is here to stay, you might want to get used to it.
