There are many things one can do to lose those recently gained extra love handles that have grown on you during the winter holiday season. Getting rid of your recently added weight can sometimes be hard, but it’s workable over time. There are many things you can easily look up such as exercises on the internet or you can just use your common knowledge.

Eating in smaller proportions is a start. Stop loading your plate high with your favorite food; instead take a hand size amount on your plate. It’s a good thing to have a variety of color on your plate, usually bright and colorful food is healthy food. Remember to drink water while eating.  Half of the time, when you think you’re hungry, you’re actually just thirsty. Drinking will help you get fuller faster and thus make you eat less. Most of the time when people eat, they tend to do so fast, and it takes their brain a while to catch up. While you’re stomach is actually full, you’ll continue to scarf down food because the signal that your stomach sent out hasn’t reached your brain yet to say ‘whoa, stop. I’m full!’ So slow down some and savoir the taste.

Another thing, take a walk. Spring is coming up and the weather is becoming warmer. Take advantage of the warm weather while it last and walk your neighborhood. Don’t have a neighborhood? Drive or get a ride to a nearby track and walk that. Even call up a friend to come with you so you have something to entertain you and you’re not doing it alone. Most people listen to their iPods while walking. Or, if you’re one of those people, just walk and enjoy nature. Take a pet with you; most pets enjoy a good walk every now and then. Walking may not seem like much, but doing 4 laps is equal to walking a mile. The more you walk, the more you can increase your laps. After a while, start at a light jog, then later a run.

There are different things to do to take care of your extra weight, many of which you can do after school. In either case, if you are truly dedicated in getting rid of your new ‘handles’, try doing some of what has been mention. Look up some more advance techniques to help you in your goal or even temporarily join a gym. Whatever you decide to do, make it fun and enjoy yourself.
