NFL Madness
Washington-
After an impressive start to the season with a win over the rival Dallas Cowboys the Redskins have lost 2 in a row to the lowly Rams and the high powered Texans then defeated the Philidelphia Eagles. Mike Shannahan, the Redskins new head coach, has fielded a much improved team then a year ago. New starting quarterback Donovan McNabb hasn’t been stellar but is the best quarterback the Redskins have had in the last decade. Grade so far: C Next week-Redskins(2-2) vs. Packers(3-1)
New York Giants-
After a week one win over Carolina, the Giants looked awful. In a week 2 loss to Indianapolis the offensive line allowed Colts’ defensive in the back field on every play. In a week 3 loss to Tennessee the team committed numerous mistakes which took points off the board. The Giants responded to criticism well in the game against the Bears in week 4 sacking quarterback Jay Cutler nine times in the first half. The jury remains out on a team that has shown flashes of greatness. Grade so far: C- Next week-Giants (2-2) vs Texans (3-1)
Philadelphia Eagles-
After a week one loss to the Packers the Eagles have been flying high under the leadership of Micheal Vick-not Kevin Kolb. Let it be known that Kolb will be the Eagles Starter eventually but Andy Reid is playing Vick in order to win now. Vick should remain the starter of the Eagles after he has returned from injury. Kolb would do himself good should he play well against the 49ers next week. Grade so far: C Next Week: Eagles(2-2) vs. 49ers (0-4)
Dallas Cowboys-
After the opening the season 0-2 the Cowboys finally looked the part last week as they rolled over the Houston Texans in their own stadium. The loss to the Redskins came down to poor coaching and the loss to the Bears was a shocker. Quarterback Tony Romo has been decent but not great. Grade so far: C- Next week: Cowboys (1-2) vs. Titans (2-2)
Bonus Coverage
Pittsburgh Steelers-
After all the talk of who would be the quarterback while starter Ben Roethlisberger was out for the first four games of the year, it didn’t really matter as the situation was decided for them. Free Agent Signee Byron Leftwich got hurt in the final preseason game. Dennis Dixon got hurt in Week 2 and Charlie Batch is now the starter and he has outperformed everyone. The defense has remained unbelievably strong as the Steelers have started 3-1. The loss to the Ravens in week 4 hurts but will not seek the ship. Grade so Far: A- Next week: Bye week-Roethlisberger returns
