Have you ever wondered how you could make your Christmas a little less boring? Have you tried ideas such as stringing popcorn on string and draping it around your stair railing for a wacky look? Have you thought about having an “on the wall” Christmas tree for an off the wall look? Or have you thought about making unusual homemade ornaments that aren’t Christmas related at all? Here’s two ideas to help sweeten your Christmas!

  1.    Scented Pinecones

  •        Pinecones
  •        Spray Bottle
  •        Baking sheet and foil
  •        Water
  •        Cinnamon essential oil

  1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit
  2. Cover the baking sheet with foil
  3. Spread the pine cones on the baking sheet and bake for one hour
  4. When the pine cones are done baking, let the pine cones cool for one hour.
  5. Fill a spray bottle with water and add three drops of cinnamon essential and shake the spray bottle.
  6. Spray the pine cones with the mixture.
  7. Place the pine cones in a resealable bag and let them sit for two weeks.

  1.   Giant Ornaments

  •        Large Plastic Ball
  •        Deli Container
  •        Wire or Coat Hanger
  •        Glue
  •        Spray Paint, Glitter
  •        Decorations that you have
  •        Pliers
  •        Art Knife
  •        Two Garden Hooks (Optional)

  1. Poke holes on each side of the deli container
  2. Insert wire and bend inside, making a loop outside.
  3. Spray paint the deli container.
  4. Glue the container rim onto the ball. Let it dry for 24 hours.

It is always good to try something new for the holidays. Why not start this Christmas?
